planes
Hello all. This was my first Priceline disaster. There were two major issues with this hotel and travelersshould be warned.Kudos does go to the staff and manager though, who were helpful and eventually allowed my one and only refund through Priceline.I ended up at the Best Western York ME.They are listed as a 2.5* hotel on Priceline but are a 2* This was my first issue with this hotel. The other was a horrible smell whichstarted on the ground floor and made its way to the 2nd with less strength but still toxic. This hotel has an extremely bad Mold problem. At first I thought it was a chemical smell from the carpet but this was not evident on the second floorthough the smell still permeated up to the 2nd floor but not directly from the 2nd floor carpet which is how I determined it was mold.It was so bad my lungs felt heavy as I walked to the stairs and my throat became hoarse and I started coughing after about an hour in my room. The * rating. I found the rooms to be at Econolodge standards. They updated the rooms but with lower quality dinky furniture and a dinky rug reminiscent of Econlodge hotels. I contacted the front desk and politely explained the situation. Now to their benefit they moved me to a King Suite. Which if notfor the horrible smell would have sufficed. The King Suite was much larger and though still appointed with the same amenities was very large andwith an over sized King bed and nice large bathroom. But the smell was overbearing. So if your bidding on a 2.5 in the Portsmouth NH area. DO NOT bid 2.5 in York or you will be in for an unpleasant experience. Link to comment
