Priceline Hotel: Bid Help Ft. Lauderdale

Hi! Please help me bid for a 2* or better hotel in the Airport/Downtown/Beach zone. I need a 1 night pre-cruise stay on 1/1/05. Can bid up to $75 plus tax and fees. Normally, I think I could get something in the $50 range, but it seems like there is no availability for that date. Hotwire is showing one 2*hotel at $64...I think it is the Days Inn South Airport...should I just go for that? Thanks so much.

There are a lot of college bowl games in the area this weekend, not to mention those making a 'long weekend' out of New Years.

Before we add a bidding strategy, do you have any sort of back-up reservation? What will you do if you're not successful with Priceline?

I have a room reserved at the LaQuinta Inn Cypress Creek as a backup for $79 plus tax. I would like to get something closer to the cruise terminal and/or airport if possible. Thanks!

OK, grab some pen and paper as this bidding may take awhile (but hey, it's fun, right? :) )

To begin, you have one re-bid zone at the 3* level, none at the 2* or 2.5* levels (although as you see we'll "make" one at the 2.5* level). Any questions on re-bids please ask before moving forward.

Here we go....

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and bid $60.

If rejected close browswer and re-access Priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* FLL Airport

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and bid $60.

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and bid $60.

Select 3* Downtown and FLL Airport

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone and bid $70.

Select 3* Downtown and Beach

If you're now at this level, then 3* bidding failed and we'll try for 2.5*.

Select 2.5* Downtown and

(note: FLL is not technically a re-bid zone, there are no 2.5* in the zone, but we know from the failed bids above that our bid is not enough for a 3* in this area)

Bid $55, if rejected add FLL Airport and Bid $65
