controlaltservices
Dates of trip: 10/02/09-10/05/09Budget: Have wedding rate of $119 for Peabody Marriott alreadyPreferred Area: BOSTON NORTH SHORE (Beverly-Salem-Peabody)According to my research here on the site the Peabody Marriott is a 3.5* Priceline hotel.Of the four bid zones for the area, only (Beverly-Salem-Peabody) has a 3.5* hotel. The other zones I see on the site are (Danvers-Peabody), (Saugus) and (Woburn-Wakefield).Can I assume that if I bid for a 3.5* hotel in these zones, that the Peabody Marriott will be the selection?Would like to get bid assistance if this is the case and see if I can get a better rate on this specific hotel.Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to provide. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Few points of clarification...The Marriott Peabody is 3.5* rated on PRICELINE. However, just because it's the only 3.5* hotel in the Priceline Hotel List doesn't make it the only possibility... the hotel lists are only hotels that have been reported to the board and there could always be others that are currently 'unknown'. See the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List for more info.Currently this is the only zone in the area that offers 3.5* bidding, so the other zones an be used as re-bid zones. Hopefully you used the techniques in this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread to determine your re-bid zones, and not the hotel lists, as the hotel lists shouldn't ever be consdiered 'complete' (for reasons indicated above). Always use the technique in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained to doublecheck your re-bid zones before beginning each bidding cycle to make sure that nothing has changed. So, you do have re-bid zones, but are not guaranteed the Marriott should you win a 3.5* hotel, since there could be other 3.5* hotels besides this one in the zone. Do you want to move forward and try bidding? If so, let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. jimmy0999
Since you want to stay in this particular hotel, I would nix the PRICELINE / HOTWIRE route since as correct as these boards are with identifying the hotel (you guys who manage these boards are wonderful!), I know that if this was me, I'd feel safer dealing with the hotel directly.
