Priceline Hotel: 3* Newark (Jersey City) Doubletree Club

Hi there-

I'm attempting to identify a Hotwire hotel in the Secaucus-Meadowlands area for 9/26-10/3.

Amenities list is as follows: Suite, Fitness, Laundry, High-Speed Internet, and Kitchenette.

Price is showing as $85.

I've checked the boards and don't see any matches. Any ideas?

This property has not yet been identified... it was just asked about the other day, and guesses were the La Quinta Secaucus-Meadowlands or the La Quinta Clifton, but really just guesses.

Since this is a one week stay you could see if this hotel appears for the first (or last) nite or two of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase a solo nite (or two) in order to 'look behind the curtain' and learn the ID of the hotel. If you're happy with the results go ahead and purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

What is your budget per nite for this trip?

Thanks for the helpful info, that's a great idea. We're trying to stay under $100 per night and the primary purpose of the trip is to see NYC... however, we're OK with a 15-30 minute commute to save $$ as long as access to public transit is nearby, hence the attempts to find something in Secaucus or Jersey City. I've been hammering Priceline for about a month but haven't yet had any luck with the right combo of area, price, and star level.

Just one more question: are there any other PRICELINE or HOTWIRE areas that would be close to public transport and less than 30 minutes to Manhattan, or are Secaucus and Jersey City the likeliest options?

Bid $70 then $75 for the Secaucus and Jersey City areas. $75 bid was accepted for the Jersey City Doubletree. I used the PRICELINE link... thanks for all of your help!

Never mind - got a 3* in Jersey City (Doubletree) on Priceline for $75 (also posted this in the Priceline board and used your link). I'm pretty pleased as it seems like it will be a decent place and will have good access to the city.

This should work out well for a longer term stay as it shares a parking lot with a local super market (Shop Rite) where you can get bagels, donuts, cereal, etc for breakfast and/or coldcut sandwiches and a few hot food items (chicken fingers, wings, etc) for lunch, a BJ's Wholesale Club (cheap lunch of pizza hut, hot dogs, etc), as well as BedBathBeyond if you run out of or forget to pack any health and beauty items. Also, the Newport Mall is easily walkable if you need anything else during your stay.

If i want to live in a doubel bes in one room, how can i do for choose? Or only need to tell the hotel receptionist when i check in ? :)
