siuwed
Date of Stay: 6 and 7 September, 2009. Paid $45 plus $15 tax= $60Review of hotel: PROS: * Beautiful and exceptionally appointed, I wish the interior decorator would do MY house. Entire hotel was beautiful with a Ruth's Chris and Starbucks in the Lobby. *Great workout room, very large with many machines and some free weights. *Plasma TV and UBER soft bed, again very tastefully art deco room.*Directly across street from Arch, great location.CONS: * Uncommonly small room, I had a KING size bed.* No bathtub, only a nice glass door marble shower in the room with a waterfall head. Very nice.* No Pool or hot tub.* Internet access in room cost $9.95 a day. WHAT??* Parking $18 a day or $24 Valet. $3 weekend, or $8 weekday at Mansion House next door.Summary: $45 plus tax= $60, well worth it due to location and comfortable bed and beautiful hotel. Staff was quite friendly, this is a 4** hotel indeed. I would stay there again, but not my first choice due to my CONS listing. The only real deal killers there are the internet access and parking. I stay at lesser hotels for lesser prices often that offer internet, pool and hot tub, and parking for free. They could cut guests the same break in their parking garage I would think that the public garage next door does? Who doesn't have free in room internet access anymore, motel 6? Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the follow-up.I would expect to pay for parking at almost any "Downtown" hotel, and the majority of "higher end" hotels do charge for internet access (more business travelers who are a captive audience and can simply expense the charge). For this reason many users who prefer the 2.5* (and some 3* rated) properties as they often include perks such as internet, breakfast, and/or parking.Glad your overall experience was positive.
