Last weekend I went to Chicago and used priceline for my hotel stay for 1 night, Friday, August 14th.

I bid on 8/5/09 and started out with 4* hotels in River North area with the following bids which were rejected:

$50

Added 3.5*

$52

Added Millennium Park area

$55

then I cleared my cache memory, re-logged in to priceline.com then tried again.

4*, River North

$59

4*, River North and Millennium Park

$62 ------ bid was accepted by Hyatt Regency

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $62.00

Subtotal: $62.00

Taxes & Service Fees: $16.87

Total Charges*: $78.87

Lowest bid I previously found was for $147 on Hotels.com

I was meeting a group in Chicago for dinner and someone in that group had posted on our own message boards that he received a winning bid for the Hyatt for $75, so I tried it with a lower price and won at $62. I went to PRICELINE.com directly (before I discovered this site).
