Priceline Hotel: 3* Bid Rejection - Ft. Lauderdale for 1-21-05

Bid $75 for 3* Downtown - rejected

Addid Mirimar and bid $85 - rejected

Both hotels that have previously been reported in this area, Sheraton and Wyndham, show their hotels as being sold-out for this date. I don't know if these rooms are on 'hold' and will open up as the check-in date approaches or if the hotels are truly sold-out, but i would highly recommend:

1) booking a cancellable back-up

2) consider lowering your star rating or be willing to consider other zones

Do you know if there is some event occuring that would account for the sold-out condition?

Someone just got Marriot Marina for $75 on 10/15/04

Ooops, my mistake, the hotels i mentioned above are in the Aiport zone :)

Rates are not high in the downtown zone for your dates (but still not sure why the airport is sold-out).

Book a cancellable back-up and continue to bid on Priceline.

However, i would recommend sticking with a $75 bid for at least a few weeks.

I also just tried to get 3* Downtown FLL for 01/21/05 and was rejected at $75.00 and rebid of $80.00. Any ideas?

I'd recommend the same advice offered in the post above yours... continue to try until mid-December and in the meantime book a cancellable back-up.
