laneycakes
HiI'm trying to get a 4* hotel in the times square area for 2 nights (check in 20th September, check out 22nd september - my friend and i are coming over from the UK). Budget of $250 + taxes per night.I've tried bidding and so far have bid at $123, $197, $245 but still no luck.It seems the city is very busy the dates i'll be there...But i'm wondering if i should hold out and keep trying ia priceline - or wether i should just forget it and book direct with a hotel...Any suggestions on bidding strategies, why the city is so busy, or help on wether or not i'm likely to be lucky on priceline would be wonderful. ThanksElaine Link to comment
AaronJB
Any reason why you are only going for the TS area? There are other Midtown areas that are not as "touristy"/crowded and have quite a few nice hotels, such as Midtown East. I wouldn't bid any higher for Times Square; you may be able to get a hotel for somewhat lower if you are willing to stay in some of the other, nearby zones. If you are willing to stay in another area, we would be happy to make suggestions. Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links. Link to comment
MoToGirl
Maybe wait a while, it's a bit early to bid for Sept and the hotels will likely add more inventory, which will bring down the price. Try end of August... Link to comment
