phate
hi,im new to the forum. first of all thanks to all of you, this is a great site and ive already learnt a lot.hotwire has a4.5* HotelAmenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spafor 138USD on August 15th for one night on offer in the financial district. It looks like it could be the intercontinental or the langham. it looks tho, following recent threads here, that the langham would be a bit more expensive and it should be the intercontinental?could it be another hotel that i missed? also, would there be a real chance to get the langham on priceline? does priceline give you a better hotel if you offer 130 versus 120 usd or does it just set a higher rate for the same hotel?thanks, phateedit: i'm a bit confused, because the intercontinental is listed here as a 4.5 star hotel, when i click on a 4 star hotel on hotwire, however, it states that intercontinental is part of their 4 star hotel group (along with the hilton, for example). so, is the boston interconti a 4.5 star hotel for hotwire? yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding! If you search for 2 adults is there for the moment no way to separate Inter-Continental and Langham. But if you change your search to 4 adults will a TA rating appear. And this is a match for the Inter-Continental. So that would be my best guess. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog. Link to comment

AaronJB
TA = tripadvisor rating, which - if showing - would be visible on the detail page for the listing. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link. Link to comment
phate
i cant find that when i change the reservation to 4 people...where should the ta rating be? does the absent ta rating mean that this is probably the langham? Link to comment
phate
yes, i will use the HOTWIRE link.another question: yesterday the hotel was 2 dollars cheaper than today. do prices normally go up or is it also possible that the same place will cost less in a week or two? Link to comment
AaronJB
Prices may go up or down based on traffic. If you wait for it to get cheaper, you are essentially making a bet that prices will decrease, and while that may occur, it's not guaranteed - prices can quickly/suddenly go the other way if traffic ramps up.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE link. thereuare
If the Tripavisor info is shown you'll see it be clicking the CONTINUE button next to the offering, then looking to the right of the map on the subsequent page.If you use this link to go to HOTWIRE, under where you enter the city, you'll see the dropdown menus to select the number of rooms, adults, and/or children. The other risk in waiting, besides the price going up, is that the current hotel offer disappears entirely. If it's a hotel you think you've identified, and you're interested in, and the price is good, the lock it in... if you wiat the hotel may no longer be offered in a few weeks and replaced with a property you either cant' identify or that you dont' like as much. Don't worry about the single digit price fluctuations and focus more on the double digit savings :)Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

kwong
Just wondering - I clicked 4 adults, the TA sign didn't show. I clicked 2 adults, the TA sign showed. Why does this tell you this is Langham or Continental? The star rating and amenities are all the same. Link to comment
