Wellie
I've bid up to $76 for 3.5* (lots of free rebids) and $59 for 3* (one free rebid) with no hits nor rebid offers, which seems high compared to my other recent wins (in other cities). Am I that far out of line? Or should I wait and try again in the same range, hoping more inventory shows up? Link to comment

tilepusher
Generally speaking, the more hotels you have competing for your bid, the better chance you have of landing a big discount. Here, you're essentially bidding for two hotels: the 3.5* Hotel Deca and the 3* Silver Cloud Inn University. A hotel on HOTWIRE that I'm guessing is the Silver Cloud is $115/night, so you're probably quite a ways off with your 3* bid, but $76 might get you the Hotel Deca if you keep trying. If you're not willing to go higher, then all you can do is keep bidding and hope for the best. If you are willing to bid more, you'll need to decide what your limit is before we can suggest a strategy. Have you figured out what your alternatives are? Link to comment
