Hotwire Hotel: Help ID 3* Edmonton Aug 15

Hello,

Could someone help me ID these two hotels:

I am searching on August 15 for 1 night, 2 adults.

Hotel #1:

3*, $76 in Downtown Edmonton. Airport shuttle, fitness center, restaurant and business center.

Hotel #2:

3*, $76 in Edmonton West. Fitness center, pool, business center and high speed internet access.

I ended up not using hotwire to book my hotel for either of the above threads you mentioned, but I have now mentioned that in the threads. Sorry about that.

Best guess is for the Downtown property is that the Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe has been downgraded to a 3* and that would be our best guess fro that one.

The West property is a match for the Wingate Inn so that would be our best guess there.

As an Edmontonian, I'm hazarding a guess it might be the Coast Plaza -- even though it's not a match for the criteria of previous HOTWIRE wins. As far as I know, the Chateau Lacombe doesn't have a complimentary shuttle -- unless they'll cover the charge through the Airporter service. The Coast Plaza does have a shuttle.

There aren't that many 3 star hotels downtown. Possibly the Coast Edmonton House, the Holiday Inn Express or even the Courtyard by Marriot might meet the criteria. If Hotwire includes the Kingsway region, the hotels are at most 2.5 stars, though you risk the Ramada which is definitely not worth the money.

While the Coast Plaza is a possibility, keep in mind the showing of a Shuttle icon doesn't imply complimentary shuttle service (although it usually is)... the description reads that shuttle service is avaialble and an additional fee may apply.

It would be appreciated if you used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases.

We ended up staying at the Matrix Hotel (we got a great rate through Expedia) because of the uncertainty around the available HOTWIRE hotels.
