Priceline Hotel: Sydney Bidding Help 4 July 1 night

I have tried 2 bids for Sydney 5* for 4 July for 1 night. The current best available rate at the Marriott is AUD279 ~ USD198. The Sheraton is currently offering AUD205 ~ USD145. My first bid was a low-ball at $60. The next bid was $80. Any suggestions as to what we should do for our next bidding strategy? Unfortunately, there are no other zones to add so I am stuck waiting 24 hours between each bid.

Thanks for the help!

With the Sheraton at $145/nite i'm not sure i'd go as high as $130, since after PRICELINE's fee that brings you to only about $8 savings.

With time on your side i'd start at $90 and increase $5 per bid every 24 hours. I'd probably stop at ~$120 or so, but you can lower/increase this amount based upon your own thoughts. If you reach your limit, i would stop bidding for 7-10 days, then post back for an updated strategy which will likely start the cycle all over again (but we'll look at current rates at that time)

If the rate at the Sheraton is cancellable i'd also book that to lock in the $145/nite rate and protect yourself from rates rising... then cancel if you can 'better' the deal.

Any questions feel free to ask. Keep us updated as to your progress.

Have done $90, $95 and $100 with no luck. Will try tomorrow for $105. Would it be wise to wait a bit if I am unsuccessful?

Unfortunately the Sheraton rate is prepaid/non-refundable.
