Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Central Strip) Wynn

Hello,

I'm a frequent stalker of this site. Have yet to take the Hotwire plunge, however. I notice that in the calendar of wins, the 5 star hotels for my date were won at a lower price than being offered now on Hotwire. I was wondering if anyone knew what general strategy is better. To book early, or wait until closer to the date. Are hotels more likely to offer lower rates for last minute bookings? Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I am also in this same position I am waiting to book for a trip from 4/29-5/6 I want to book 4 nts and 3 nts at two different places so I'm hoping to scoop up a 4* for W,T,F,S under $100 then 5* for S,M,T for around $100. I keep checking the forums too and I'm hoping to snag a deal soon..

Hope you find your deal let us know how you make out

I'm not able to tell from the current pinned list which hotel this is, it doesn't match any exactly. Palazzo, Venetian, or Wynn?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm confused. I've researched here about Hotwire and made a post, but never ended up booking through hotwire b/c I could not find the hotel that I was looking for. I booked through Hotels.com I did make three posts today: 2 regarding hotels that I could not identify, and one regarding whether or not it's good to wait, or book the sooner the better (i.e. is there a trend as to whether they offer better deals, earlier or closer to the dates of stay.) I'm not sure why my 3 threads were combined.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone reading your Hotwire Las Vegas thread will have no idea if you ultimately purchased the hotel you were asking about (but didn't report the win to the board), cancelled the trip, booked a hotel directly, etc... it just drops off without any response (after somebody took the time to help you). Ideally alll threads should have a "conclusion" in regards to what the user ultimately did for the stay... it not only helps keep the board more useful and better organized, but it's a courtesy to those who took the time to help.

Also, please note as per our support page that we are an affiliate of Hotels.com, please use our link in the support page for your future htoel direct and online agency bookings.

All posts for the same stay belong in the same thread, which is why they were merged. While your "should i bid early or late" is more of a general nature, this question is asked multiple times a day and we don't want a new thread for each time it's asked... this question is addressed in the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.
Sorry I might not understand the rules of this forum exactly, but all I was doing was commenting about waiting for a good time to book I wasn't asking any questions simply just wanted to start conversation about this topic.
Your post was fine and discussion such as this is perfectly acceptable, and i'm sorry if i implied otherwise... just being a bit proactive in making sure this doesn't go off on a tangent for your own stay, so i was stating that any (future) questions should be posted in your existing thread. However, since yellowdog did reply to your thread and took the time to identify the property, a follow-up as to your plans/intentions (the same info you posted above) would seem appropriate.

I found the answer to my question in your link to FAQ, thanks. I searched the site for this question but was probably using the wrong search terms. :)

I posted an answer to my previous Vegas trip, I never knew I received a reply, my apologies. I also did not know that I was supposed to post in the same thread for the same trip, so thanks for pointing that out. Also, I did not know you were affiliated with Hotels.com, I thought just HOTWIRE and PRICELINE. I will use the links here when booking future travel with any of your affiliates. Anyway, I'm bumping this thread so hopefully someone can ID these 4 and 5 star hotels. Also, is there still trip advisor rating info for each property or is that no longer a feature of HOTWIRE?

Thanks again, I'll get the hang of it.

The 5* above is now showing a Tennis icon (at least on my HOTWIRE search) in addition to the amenities you've listed, which would make our best guess the Wynn.

The 4.5* has not yet been identified, but it's guessed that this is the Signature at MGM.

The 4* matches both the Paris and Planet Hollywood, you should be prepared for either if you purchase this, but the Planet Hollywood comes up significantly more than the Paris with these amenities so i would favor that one.

The 3.5* is believed to be the Hilton... not yet reported at this star level, but it's speculated that it's been downgraded.

Thanks for your help! I used the HOTWIRE links from this site. Should I do a separate post for this win? Also, how do I post this to the "Calendar of Wins?"
