timcanteen
Just learned from Hotwire that the DoubleTree-Chelsea msg will not be open until October! Link to comment
MitchB
Well that's interesting, and makes our decision as to whether to book it or not. So now I wonder what happens to the people that have booked already? It is still showing up for our dates in May. Link to comment
thereuare
Just learned from Hotwire that the DoubleTree-Chelsea msg will not be open until October! So should we assume that you purhased the property offered in this Hotwire NYC thread but didn't follow-up your post with the outcome of your purchase? :)What information was included in the contents of the HOTWIRE email and did they process a refund or offer to relocation you to a different property? (if the latter, did they state where you would be relocated to) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
mjz_kc
I called the hotel direct and was informed that they will do a "soft" opening in April. They are accepting reservations for May 1st and beyond. I might try to secure this. If I do, I'll use the HOTWIRE link and share the outcome. Link to comment

timcanteen
This booking was ONE MORE NIGHTMARE!!! First of all when I received confirmation from HOTWIRE that I had received the Doubletree Chelsea for 99.00 for 4 people (2 beds) I was concerned as to whether or not the hotel was going to be open in time for my dates 6/13-6/19 so I e-mailed HOTWIRE asking about my arrival date. I then received an e-mail from HOTWIRE asking me to call their customer care #. I called them and the representative proceeded to tell me that the Doubletree- Chelsea was not going to be available until October and that they (HOTWIRE) was refunding my money or would find another hotel. I took the refund knowing that there was no other deal for 99.00 esp. for 4 people. I received the refund and then called the Doubletree directly and was told by their rep. that they were definately opening late April to early May and did not understand why HOTWIRE had told me about the October opening date. So I again go on HOTWIRE to book another room EXACTLY as I did the first time (4 PEOPLE) and I get a message... Unable to confirm. I change my settings from 2 adults, 2 children to 2 Adults and voila, I get the Doubletree-Chelsea for 99.00 1 King bed. I am now hoping that Doubletree will give me the 2 beds as I originally had. I hope it will not be a problem as the hotel lists 1 King and 2 Doubles for the same $. Oh, btw I asked HOTWIRE if I could get some HOTWIRE bucks for all this trouble they told me they "couldn't do that" they never offered an apology...nothing and to beat it all now the Doubletree is saying that I have 2 reservations!!! As I said... ONE MORE NIGHTMARE!!! Link to comment
