Priceline Hotel: 3.5* St. Louis (Downtown) Crown Plaza

Bid won on first bid. Last minute desicion to stay downtown. Arrived by Metrolink and had to walk 5 or 6 blocks to the hotel in a wintery mix of snow/rain/wind. I was early and didn't expect to get a room but they checked me in at 11:30 AM and gave me a room on the top floor (29th) overlooking the Arch and the Old Courthouse & Busch Stadium. It was a VERY nice room for the price! I also ate at the restaurant and it was excellent...The hotel is in a great location for dining & shopping in St. Louis.

Glad this win worked out for you so well! While this isn't something people are going to encounter at every hotel, I think some properties have been fairly empty lately and, if you get the right person at checkin, some hotels may provide a better-than-expected room.
