Alex in MI
On my second bid (first one = $59, 4*, Millennium Park, etc., rejected) I snagged a $79 room at the Embassy Suites Downtown, on State St. I probably should have bid $69 first, but oh, well. This is my caveat: I called the hotel today to get some room information and make a specific room request. The person I spoke with said that all the rooms in the block that Priceline bought (at least for those dates), were king-bed smoking rooms, and that a non-smoking room could be assigned on check-in only if one was available. Priceline's itinerary states that the room type "can not be guaranteed and [is] based on availability." I know that's pretty standard, but in my opinion the default assignment of a smoking room really should have been stated before any bid was submitted.Anyhow, after lurking for a few months, I'm happy to have submitted my first post on this board. Looking forward to many more... Link to comment
