This one was a lot of work over several days:

Bid 2.5* $30 in Morgantown, rejected.

Added 2*, rejected.

Bid 2.5* $35 in Morgantown, rejected.

Added 2*, rejected.

Bid 2.5* $42 in Morgantown, rejected.

Added 2*, rejected. (Was told if I upped by $12 I could bid again immediately, but I'm stubborn.)

Bid 2.5* $40 in Bridgeport or Fairmont (nearby towns), rejected.

Added 2*, rejected.

Finally accepted at 2.5* $50 in Morgantown, and upgraded to this 3.5*.

It is a little more than I wanted to pay as this is basically just my "get some sleep halfway to my destination" hotel, but it looks like I was going to be paying about the same amount for a 2* in the area anyway.
