miruca
Recently bid and won 2.5* Courtyard Marriott in San Mateo (San Francisco) which turned out to be Foster City - a good distance from the airport. Turns out the hotel did not have an airport shuttle on the weekends. It was going to cost almost $70 RT by cab or even more with a rental car to get there (I was in the airport at the time and someone did the bid remotely for me). I ended up having my friend get a room close to the hotel and with an airport shuttle from Hotwire for the same $70. Just wanted to provide this as a heads up to people. I won't be including the San Mateo area in my future bids near the San Francisco airport. Link to comment
