Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Palazzo

I have always been able to bid 5* North of strip and know I was getting Palazzo or Venetian...now I see the Trump tower is participating in PRICELINE. =(

I am looking at 12/7-12/10/08. My question is...I know that you CANNOT guarantee which hotel that you will get...but are you seeing a trend...like Trump is higher priced or anything like that? Any help would be appreciated.

There is no noticable trend... just when it seems like all the wins are for the Trump we begin to see the Venetian or Palazzo being won.

You can either aim for THEhotel by bidding the South Strip or see if a non-Trump 5* hotel appears on HOTWIRE for your dates.

It would be appreciated if you used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

I did see, thanks to your site, that several people won Venetian and Palazzo at 79. I have bid $55, $60 and now $70. After my $70 bid, I got a counter offer of $88. If i meet them in the middle, that will be 79.00. I did see someone else got the $88 counter offer and booked for 79(Venetian). Dont know if that means its more likely to be Venetian. I want to try that, but Im kind of chicken because I really dont want the Trump. Have you heard from people who have stayed there? I will use the links!

Im just bummed because I loved that you could bid 5*North and pretty much knew you would get Palazzo or Venetian. Oh well, couldnt last forever I guess. =)

Some people have expressed some disappointment with the Trump because it is a little farther removed from the strip (although not that much further than Palazzo) and the main thing is that it does not have a casino.

'More likely' can get you into trouble, because you may think it is more likely and convince yourself that it actually is, and then you book and get disappointed because it wasn't the hotel you wanted.

I would read the reviews on Trump and before you counteroffer, make sure that you would be at least OK with the Trump if you were to get it. You are heading to Vegas, land of gambling, so are you ready to gamble with this?

From what i have heard/read the Trump is a very nice hotel and first class all the way, but as slick_gd points out, there is no casino and some complain of the distance to to the strip (some say it's easily walkable while others complain it's too far).

You basically have to ask yourself, if you received the Trump for $79 would you be happy with that deal?

I also noticed that i4Vegas (please use this link) has the Palazzo for your dates at $119/nite and includes:

*$50 Gaming Credit per suite/per stay

*$50 Beverage Credit per suite/per stay

*Complimentary Line Pass and Admission to Lavo Nightclub per suite/per stay (max 4 guests)

I believe the Gaming Credit is a slot credit, so if you intend to use that and the beverage credit, that's $100, which is about $30/nite 'deduction', which would bring your cost down to about $90/nite and you'll know it's the Palazzo.

Well, I took the gamble that I would hopefully get Palazzo or Venetian if I bid $79 which seems like a common amount being accepted at the moment. I bid 65 again and PL countered at 88. I bid 75 no luck. I bid 79 knowing this bid would be more likely to be accepted. It was and I got the Palazzo!!! Whew, I REALLY didnt want Trump and thought I wuold take the chance with 79. Im so glad I got Palazzo. Thanks for all your help.

A very nice deal for this property. With the recent economic downturn Vegas has been taking it on the chin, which has brought about some excellent deals... glad to see you able to take advantage of it and you received one of the hotels you were hoping for.
