Guapo
Hi, I've been trying for about 10 days to get something in the NMA and MP zones of Chicago. I have gone up to $85 for 3.5* and 100 for 4* with no luck. I see people getting Palmer House for 75 and others for under 100.Any ideas? Thanks. Link to comment

Guapo
Thanks! I've found Wyndham 289.95, Marriot Downtown $249 Palmer House 239, Hyatt Regency 259. Link to comment
AaronJB
There are a few conventions (nothing major, but sizable enough) on these dates, which may be causing an issue. However, I definitely wouldn't start bidding much higher. In fact, I would just go up by $5. Next time, $90 for 3* and $105 for 4*. I don't think you're far off from an acceptable bid, considering the fact that Hotwire has 4*'s for as low as $134. Link to comment
thereuare
AaronJB knows the area best, but my approach would be a little different...With your willingness to accept either the NMA or Loop zone, and in conjunction with your re-bid zones, you can get enough bids to go up to whatever limit you choose (within reason up to the current HOTWIRE rate) adn i would make enough bids to start low and end at your maximum. If you're stay was a few weeks away i would try lowballing a little further, but with your stay commencing in just 3 days, i would bid to get this done... what if the current HOTWIRE rate for the 4* disappears and nothing else close to this price appears? While hotel direct rates are not that high for Chicago, they are still nearly twice as much as we're talking about you bidding as your maximum bid, so i wouldn't worry about possibly overbidding by $10 in case the price dropped in the next 2 days and would be more concerned about making sure i didn't have to spend $50-$75 more if the current low priced 4* hotel on HOTWIRE disappears. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and/or if we can help further. Guapo
Thanks! I got Palmer House on my first bid of $70 for a 4* in the Loop (of course used your PRICELINE link). You guys are great! The listed price is $239. Link to comment
AaronJB
So you bid up to $100 for a 4* in the MP/Loop/Grant Park area for these dates and that wasn't accepted, but you bid $70 today and got the Palmer? Odd, but congrats on a great deal! :-) Link to comment
