TJT
Hi,I am travelling with my girlfriend to Vegas on 10/23-10/26 (checking in on Thursday and checking out on Sunday) and I am looking for a great deal on a nice hotel on the strip. Any advice would be appreciated. I noticed the Monte Carlo thread offering a cheap rate with some extras any other advice would be appreciated.TJ Link to comment
CrankiestOne
Start by booking a "backup" that you can cancel in the event you find a better deal. That Monte Carlo deal is $55-$149-$179 for your dates, but I've never stayed there so I don't have any input on the hotel itself. What do you consider a "nice" hotel? Link to comment
TJT
I have only stayed at Caesar's and the Mirage while on the Vegas Strip, so I guess those would be my baseline standards for nice. I would think for the price of the Monte Carlo that I could get a PRICELINE deal on a nicer hotel (maybe venetian or trump). Thanks for your help.TJ Link to comment
CrankiestOne
What's your budget? The Trump website is showing $215/night. Are you familiar with the bidding zones, rebidding strategy, etc.?www.tripres.com is showing Trump at $189 and Mandalay Bay at $204. I'm certainly no expert, but I'd think you can do better than that on Priceline. By the way, you know that Trump doesn't have a casino, right? Link to comment
thereuare
Do you want to try for a 5* hotel or a 4* hotel? What is your maximum bid for this stay? TJT
5* or 4* would be fine. I don't want to split my bid and I am considering the direct link reservation with Monte Carlo (not quite 4*). Link to comment

CrankiestOne
When I looked at those dates Saturday was considerably more expensive than Thursday and Friday; what's your budget goal? Link to comment
