Priceline Hotel: bidding question

hello experts,

i was reading the thread and found someone who won venetian for around $120 (congra)

however, i have a question

i was reading a lot of the threads and found out trump international is usually the one that's win by most people who bid on the 5* got trump international, so for the fact that venetian is a much popular hotel than trump, and this is why trump is willing to offer cheaper rate then venetian even if they are both 5*

so, how do you win 5* hotel on north strip w/o letting trump comes into play?

no casino floor is a concern for me since i'm bring my old grandma

i understand there is THEhotel in the south but this question is just concern about the north strip

so winning venetian is just a pure luck

or some advice?

When bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, a particular hotel.

If there is a hotel in the zone you don't want, or are trying to target, HOTWIRE can be a better options since you can often take a guess as to the hotel you may receive based upon the amenities (or in this instance choose a hotel with the casino icon and know that you wont' be receiving the Trump)

since we all know that both hotwire and priceline are not refundable once is book

and we also understand the law of demand and supply

i was wondering

when is the best time to make reservation prior to your arrival date?

should we make reservation early or late?

Casinos have professional market analysis and that's how they price their hotel room

but i have also encounter slightly price drop when arrival date is approaching

according to any of your experts experience
