Priceline Hotel: Best way to get a good price on T.I. or Paris

Hello all been a user of this site for a while, but I decided to join finally, I don't know why I didn't earlier.

First off, on priceline I just won holiday inn, williams, AZ for 65 per night (plus fees) for the nights of spet. 22 and 23.

for those that dont' know williams is 3h:20m from vegas 1hour to the grand canyon south rim.

best yet, for my girl and I to fly from detroit to vegas it is only costing $58.50 return including taxes each. (spirit airlines sale)

now for the real trick I will be staying in Vegas on the nights of the 24 and 25th of September, I would like to stay in Paris hotel and casino (although there are others I wouldn't mind like T.I. (BUT NOT LUXOR!!)

What would be the best way of getting one of these center/north strip 4* properties at a great price, (HOTWIRE, PRICELINE, or any site).

Paris wants 140 per night (avg), I would like to spend around 100/night base price at most. (see if I can do this whole trip for under 700)

If there is a good way of getting something like flamingo for 60 or 70 I would be up for that too.

thanks in advanced. (if anyone has won something like this around that time please post so I can get an idea of what I might be able to do)

Somebody may be saying this right now regarding Williams AZ but won't know to look here (in the Nevada forum in a post regarding Treasure Island and Paris to learn about your win.

Please post the details of your Holiday Inn win in the Arizone - Priceline section of the board and then bump this thread... we'll then have a look at your post above.

Ooo I love Williams. It's a really cute small town. There are a few lakes in the area you can check out or walk around the historic downtown(very small). I use to live in Flagstaff which is only 30 min away. You should check it out as well if you're passing by.

Since you mentioned Treasure Island I wanted to suggest this site http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/treasur...ionalcodes.aspx . Here is for Paris http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/paris/p...ionalcodes.aspx . There are a bunch of promotion codes for hotels in Vegas that many people don't find out about. I used the colors promo on my last trip @TI but I'm not sure if you will be able to for those dates.

I was originally going to use priceline for a 4* or 5* north but they don't have much of a selection in that area. For a 4* North hotel I believe your only choice is Caesars Palace and a 5* Trump, Palazzo, or the Venetian. So if you don't want to take your chances with getting Trump(off the strip) in North or Luxor in South maybe you can look at the promotions going on right now.

Oh and tripres.com has buy one night get one free for some hotels. The cheapest I saw a room on there was 30$(weekday) at The Orleans hotel which means you only pay 15$ a night. Thats pretty cheap and then you can even get a free room upgrade if you just ask nicely. ;-)

Good luck,

Jelena

With Vegas especially, I recommend checking all the Harrah's properties individually via hot Deals rates for the most standard rooms. Avoid Imperial Palace. Consider the Rio, which though off-central Strip, has great rooms and a free continuous Strip shuttle (5 mins to Caesars) if you dont want to deal with the parking garage hassles -- and is closer to center Strip than Luxor/Mandalay Bay. The MGM properties (Luxor, TI, Mirage, Monte Carlo etc) have promos on their websites. I'd also use a secondary email to sign up for each casino hotel's emails/deals, i.e. TI just had a great deal valid for 72 hours only (ended on Thursday) that would've applied to your stay.

For your dates, I would also strongly recommend booking a cancellable back-up. Typically you get charged the 1st night rate as a refundable deposit, and it locks in the rate in case your PL bidding isn't successful. For example the hot Deal rate for Flamingo is $110 for 24th and $85 for 25th, which would put you under the $100/night threshhold. Yes, i know it's not a 4-star or in the $60 range. But it is too risky to bid 3-star North Strip because of Imperial Palace, Riviera, Strat etc. (one of those aforementioned properties is showing at $45/night on HOTWIRE)....and 3-star Strip South could get you the Trop or Excalibur or a Luxor upgrade.

Also dont forget to be creative and look at all options. For example, Hilton Grand Vacations (Hilton-owned and also used as a timeshare with more weekend demand) is coming up at a $98 pre-paid (nonrefundable) rate and $109 normal rate (I believe you could knock the $109 to $98 if a AAA member). Friend stayed there once, beautiful property, pool, kitchenette, view, no casino/smoke, very impressive albeit small room. It is North Strip though but if I had a chance at that rate, I wouldn't think twice. It's not 4-star per se based on no fullservice restaurant/entertainment amenities. I'm not so much recommending this place specififcally, just using it as a good example of what may be out there if you do your homework.

Good luck.

the flamingo (pretax) is currently more on hotwire for the dates of sept 24-26 than it is on flamingo.com with "hot rates" selected

I would suggest everyone check the company website before purchasing the las vegas 3.5* center strip on hotwire.

(while I am not 100% sure it is the flamingo I am 99% sure)
