Just won the following on Priceline.

Downtown Montreal

4 rooms

July 16-18

$50 bid was accepted.

Holiday Inn Select Centre-Ville.

Initially bid $45 for a couple of days ago and was rejected.

Great deal for 4 rooms.

Has anyone stayed here before? Is the location decent relative to St. Catherines and Crescent Streets?

Today (6/27), I tried bidding essentially the same request (Montreal, 3*, night of 7/17), but was rejected at the $51 level. Any explanation or advice anyone can offer?

A few possibilities:

-traditional rates have increased since this user bid (thus higher Priceline rates)

-hotel only allocated a certain number of rooms to Priceline and they're now all allocted

-hotel requires a two nite minimum (although we've seen one nite stays here before, but it's a possible the minimum is in effect for these dates)

Thanks - increased to two nights, but still no luck. Same when dropping down the the 2-1/2* level. Will have to think about what to do next.
