vanclan
I want to book a room in Auburn Hills, MI. Using your link, HOTWIRE allows me to go through the entire process to book and even shows me the name of the hotel. (2* Homestead suites) However I cannot fit my Canadian address into the HOTWIRE designations. I have always put my address in and then just "fudged" the state and the postal code using a 5 digit number. Now however hotwire says that the address i have given and the one on my credit card do not match and it has not taken the payment. Can you help me? Would it be better to use paypal? Thanks for a quick response. This is for a conference and rooms are booking up fast. Link to comment
thereuare
HOTWIRE doesn't have any geographic restrictions to purchase from their site, so there shouldn't be any reason to make your address conform to a US standard. Can you add more information on one particular line of the form to make it all fit? Can you at least get the 'basics' of your address correct? (at least the street number, and hopefully the province and/or postal code)Thanks for using our HOTWIRE link. vanclan
I put the entire Canadian address into the two lines of address. Our postal code is not a 5 digit number and so I can't get it to fit in the postal code area....as soon as I put it combination of letters and numbers then the site complains, it also seems to balk at the name of my town. If I leave the postal code blank, it complains. If I put a false code in, it doesn't match my credit card and it complains again. I've never had this problem before...maybe I'll just try again...but I don't want it to charge my credit card numerous times!! Link to comment
Canadian_Guy
I'm from Canada and have no problems booking hotels in the USA. You might want to try chaning the country first and then it should automatically change the postal code format. Once you get it working, definately create a profile! Good luck. Link to comment
vanclan
Thanks for the hints....I tried putting the basics of the address in one line but it really insisted on a postal code. I finally called the hotwire phone number and made the booking that way....but I was so disappointed not to successfully use better bidding's link. Canadian Guy, I will try changing the country first next time, but I think I did that. Hopefully I will have better success next time I use hotwire! I will post my win and a review of the hotel shortly. Thanks for all your help. Link to comment

vanclan
Auburn HillsExtended Stay America 1180 Doris Drive (NOT the Featherstone Dr. location)2 starAmenities: LaundryDate: Friday July 25-Sat. July 26thPrice 29.00Fees/Taxes 9.60Total 38.60Some of the reviews for this hotel are negative. I found it to be quite adequate, clean, quiet, with good customer service. The carpet might be a bit dated, but no problem. The rooms contain full frig, stove top, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. (no coffee) Dishes are also in the room plus one packet of dish soap, dishtowel and cloth. There are no hairdryers, but later I read that they are available on request. It is a bit dificult to find, especially in the dark and given the fact that currently Doris Drive is under construction and temporarily a one way street running from Opdike to Featherstone. This was a great find on Hotwire and filled our need for a room while attending a conference at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Link to comment
