steveref
Will need to spend the night of 7/21 in Stamford. Hotwire offers several options:3 1/2* for $64 Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Tennis3* for $73 Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Laundry2 1/2* for $59 Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, LaundryPretty sure the 3 1/2* is the Westin. My guess is that the 3* is the Holiday Inn Select. There is no 2 1/2* property on the list of Hotwire hotels in Stamford. Any thoughts on what it might be?The Westin appears to be the best value. Should I go for it or do you think a better deal could be had on PRICELINE? Link to comment

steveref
Haven't tried PRICELINE yet. The HOTWIRE deals seem to offer an excellent value. If I have a good confidence level in the hotel I'd be purchasing on HOTWIRE, then I'd be inclined to go that route. Unless someone indicates that I can do significantly better on Priceline, then I'm not sure it would be worth the extra time and effort to save a few more dollars and take a bigger risk on the identity of the property. thereuare
The Westin hasn't been reported thru HOTWIRE in over 2 years, and at that time it was rated 3.5* and had the amenities above for the 3.5* except for the Internet and Smoke Free icons. Given this property has internet access and is also now smoke free, i'm gonig to guess that is the property you're seeing above. The 3* matches the Holiday Inn Select, but i'll also add that the Marriott is a second guess as well (although i think the Holiday Inn Select is a bit more likely)The 2.5* hasn't been identified. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. steveref
Turns out the 3.5* is the Hilton and I will be staying there on the evening of 7/21/08 for $64 plus taxes and fees. Link to comment
thereuare
Well, i was partially right...This Hilton was previously the Westin, so it is the same property guessed above, but they have since changed brands/ownership and it is now a Hilton :)Thanks for sharing your results with the board... since the location is the same, hope the Hilton brand works just as well for you as a Starwood brand. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
