hi,

i'm new to this forum and i try to search for some help to get the best deal in miami...

my first idea was to find a hotel in south beach, is it possible to find some 3 or 4* for about 60$.

then i found the thread from sahayes1, and he get's the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables for 60$.

should i try to get a room in the Coral Gables/Coconut Bay to get better deals? i have a rental car so i don't think it's to far to drive up to south beach

i would be there from 06/07 to 06/09

thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I think it depends what you're looking for from this stay... or if you're really just looking for a "deal", why not encorporate both zones into your bidding and see which accepted your lowest bid first?

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

i tried it till 80$ but PRICELINE rejected all my offers

I assume you tried at both the 3* and 4* levels? If so, then obviously $80 isn't currently enough for a hotel in this area thru PRICELINE.

If your budget is a little more flexible you can have a look at HOTWIRE where there is currently a 3* for $93/nite and a 3.5* for $119/nite... a 2.5* for $59/nite. Do keep in mind that PRICELINE and HOTWIRE use different criteria for star ratings (HOTWIRE often being a little more 'generous' in their star rating) so you may not be comparing apples-to-apples if you're looking at a 3* hotel on each. (as well, each may define the boundaries of the South Beach zone differently)

South Beach is an area with some very nice high-end properties and then the quality level drops off quickly (people want to go to the area regardless, hotels sell-out, so little need to put a lot of money into them)

So it comes down to choosing between location or hotel quality and which is more important.

  • 5 years later...

But I am not able to recognize which Hotel it was, but it was a good deal on PRICELINE

Huh?? Did you win the hotel thru PRICELINE (bidding), PRICELINE EXPRESS, or was it a 'retail' listing where you knew the name of the hotel before your purchase?

You can still view your previous purchases by going to PRICELINE and clicking the MY PROFILE >> MY TRIPS link near the top right of their home page.

I know... think of how long we've been waiting to hear how this stay worked out for you! ;)

I didn't look at the date of your original post when i replied, but if you could check your PRICELINE history as per the method above to see if your win is still listed it would be appreciated.
