thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! The 4* is a match for ME Cancun while the 4.5* is a match for the Le Meridien... those would be our best guesses for each. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. pwrtrader
Hi all,I'm trying to book a couple of rooms for 6/4/08 through 6/7/08 and am checking both my options on HOTWIRE and PRICELINE. But I noticed that when I try Priceline (name your price) and select the Cancun - Downtown option, the 5 star options is enabled. I was under the assumption that there were no 5 stars for that area under Priceline. Also, when checking the regular Priceline booking site (opaque) there are no options for 5 star hotels, only resort and 4 star and below.Any thoughts would be helpful.Best regards,Eric Link to comment

pwrtrader
Bid 5 star level for $81, rejected, then added Resort and bid $82 accepted @ Gran Melia. Was offered additional nights at same rate but was rejected when I tried to add 6/7/08.Here are the figures:Per Room, Per Night: US$82.00Subtotal: US$164.00Taxes & Service Fees: US$29.56Total Charges: US$193.56I actually did this same sequence twice within the span of a couple of hours because I needed 2 rooms. I know I should have bid 2 rooms originally, but was really wary about getting the westin cancun (due to numerous bad reviews lately) so I figured I'd take a chance. Kinda dumb but I lucked out and got the same hotel with the second bid also. Wife would have killed me had that plan backfired and looking back, really wasn't worth the risk. LOL! Link to comment

seningen
Wow -- you are going to love that place for $82/nightI'm heading at the end of July 28-Aug 1I'd love to get that at $82 for then -- but nothing is hitting, even up to $100 for resorts.May have to wait until the last minute.I paid $123/nt for the Gran Melia (through an offer on Sol Melia Club) 2 years ago -- everything wasawesome -- note pool gets very hot -- drinks were typical 4* pricey. We never ate there. Expect a lot of steps going up from the Kulcankan Blvd -- so be prepared. All in all -- you did fantastic.m Link to comment
