We are flying into LaGuardia and will be attending a Mets game. I am overwhelmed when it comes to finding a place to stay. We would like to stay around the $250 price range anything less would be great and anything more would be considered. We don't have a preference of where to stay. I am going to book a refundable trip like you have suggested, but want to keep looking through priceline and hotwire. When is the best time to book for both priceline and hotwire? Is 250 realistic around this time?Is there any area you would suggest when it comes to seeing the city along with going to Flushing one night?I appreciate any advice and help.Thanks! Link to comment
Will Posted May 15, 2008 Report Share Posted May 15, 2008 Your budget looks reasonable, already on Hotwire there is a 4* hotel for your dates for $206 which maybe the Helmsley Park Lane. What star level are you looking for? Your budget should be in range for a 4*. I would still suggest you try Priceline though as you should be able to get a better price. Make sure your familiare with Priceline Rebidding. For most people, MTW, MTE, MTS and Times Square Theater District will be good for visiting the city. Personally I would start around $120 (a low ball) and work your way up in $2-$5 increments to your max budget. If you need a more detailed bidding strategy you can post back. Link to comment

To get the Shea you take the 7 Train (or LIRR) which is easily accessible from most subway lines in the city, so no matter where you are, you're likely not more than 2 trains ride from Shea (one to get to the 7, then the 7 to Shea).Let us know your minimum star rating and if all the above zones are acceptable and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
