lavendersblue28
Hi, i had some time off today so i decided to bid. i modified the bid sequence and only bid on the MTE, Times Square and UM-CPS zones. I used a similar bidding sequence, with a modified combinations and went up to $215 for all three. Still no luck. I hesitate to bid in the MTW and MTS areas because of some bad reviews on the priceline listed hotels in these areas. This is the first time my family is going to NYC (for my medical school graduation) and I want the hotel to be just right but without going broke at the same time.Am I having trouble because I'm bidding on two rooms at once or is this just a weekend with low inventory? I split my bid to just June 6- June 8 and went up to $215 in the MTE, Times Square and UM-CPS areas. I had no luck.Although I could push the price up to $250, I really don't want to pay that much unless it's absolutely necessary.Any more advice? Thank you! Link to comment
thereuare
It's a very expensive time of year in NYC.Which hotels concern you in the MTW and MTS zones? There are some decent properties on Quikbook which are within your price range... not 4* hotels ncessarily, but hotels that are probably 'good enough' that you can use as a cancellable back-up. lavendersblue28
Hi,I've seen some of the recent winning bids and have considered rebidding. Do you think that bidding on two rooms at once is decreasing my chances? Has anyone gotten good deals in the past on priceline with a multiple room bid? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Do you think that bidding on two rooms at once is decreasing my chances?Probably not the issue... as noted above, it's a very expensive time of year in NYC.If you review the Priceline and Hotwire Wins Calendar the only 4* hotel won for these dates was in Downtown, at a price of $215/nite, and this area is usually less expensive than midtown. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes.
