Thank you for sharing your results with the board... helping us update the Hotwire Hotel List as this property was last reported at the 2.5* level (and with different amenity icons)

This hotel gets very good reviews and is well situatated for getting around the city being very close to multiple subway lines.

A few (inexpensive) suggestions in the area or your hotel...

John's Pizza (44th b/w 7th Ave and 8th Ave) - very good NYC pizza served in a converted church (really nice high ceilings)... sit in the back room and watch them make pizza in the open kitchen stations (stay away from the entrees though... pizza is great, salads ok, "petes-a-rolls" are good too)

Arriba Arriba (51st and 9th Ave) - decent mexican (for NYC)... nothing to rave about but always a decent choice, very reasonable prices, tables are tight quarters and the service can be spotty... but after a margarita (or two :) ) you don't really care anymore (re: Margaritas... the baby is the size of a thimble... stick with the 'mama' or 'papa' sizes)

Lastly, if you're daring and just so you can say you've done it, be like a local and try the chicken and rice food cart at 53rd St and Sixth Ave for a late nite 'snack' (note the hours) as mentioned in the NYC Restaruants wiki.
