newmom
MIA Bid $48MIA + North Beach Bid $50MIA + North Beach + Miami Beach $55MIA + Miami Beach + South Beach and North Beach $56 Trying to score Summerfield Suites for $55 as per previous wins, but nothing. There is a 2.5* MIA hotel on Hotwire for only $62 but methinks it might be Embassy Suites which has mixed reviews. Link to comment
thereuare
Since this is only a one nite is this for pre/post-cruise? Are the Beach zones acceptable as well or are you adding them because you don't think you'll win anything there? What is your maximum bid for this stay? What are the amenities associated with the 3* hotel on HOTWIRE? newmom
Second day in a row today to try and snag Summerfield Suites for $55 by the airport. First bid for MIA for $50, got a retry if I increased bid by $14. That's a positive sign that I did not get yesterday. Second bid for MIA, added Miami North Beach for $55. Looonnngggg wait. And then, Embassy Suites accepted my offer. :) Tripadvisor has mixed ratings not like Summerfield Suites. Not sure I'm enthralled even though PL says I was upgraded to a 3*, but that's PL. Hope that Embassy Suites turns out okay. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your win and thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board! The reviews look ok to me, with most of the negatives pertaining to value, and for the price paid above, i think you got an excellent deal which includes breakfast and an evening manager's reception. Not sure how many airport hotels i'd want to spend an extended period of time at, but for a one nite pre-cruise, i think this will work out fine for your needs. mrxow
There is nothing wrong with the Embassy Suites there. I don't know why it would get mixed reviews. Good breakfast. Nice rooms. Standard Embassy Suites design. The Summerfield suites are very nice, though. I don't blame you for trying for it. Anybody who needs a hotel at MIA should consider bidding 2.5 for the chance to stay there. Unfortunately you can end up at the Holiday Inn, though, which is a 3 star so you can't avoid it. At least you got the Embassy Suites. Far, far, far, far better than the Holiday Inn...Only downside is $10 parking at Embassy, when I was there last year, versus free at Summerfield and Holiday Inn.:) Link to comment
