SUPERJ
I want a 4 or 5 star north of the strip May 16-20.Should I try enterring 16-18 and then bid 19-20?Does length of stay impact your chances of winning? Worst case scenario we change hotels. Link to comment

thereuare
I am inquiring about Vegas...I understand that...We previously helped you with a a Priceline stay in South Beach to which there was no follow-up... that stay has come and gone and there was no conclusion as to what you ultimately did for that stay. Ideally every thread on the board should have a resolution... current users reading that thread have no idea if you were ulitmatley successful, booked elsewhere on your own (if so where), cancelled the trip, etc; instead they're left wondering :)Please follow-up that thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay and them bump this thread and we'll have a look at your Vegas stay above.Thanks. thereuare
Length of stay usually isn't the factor... it's the rate change over the course of your stay that can make a winning bid difficult. In Vegas, there is almost always a rate change of weekend vs. midweek rates, usually making it advantageous to split. However, some hotels average the nightly rate when evaluating a minimum bid price to accept and it's almost always better to try for your complete stay first to avoid having to change hotels, then if rejected, consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID.If you let us know your expected budget, desire for a 4* vs. a 5*, and the zones you're willing to accept we'll take a closer look and advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. mrxow
Having a longer stay, especially one that includes both weekday and weekend nights can impact your chances, but you never know. You can at least try booking the whole thing up to an amount you are comfortable with. If it starts looking like it is going to cost more than you like, maybe try to break it up.You might want to look at some retail prices and try to determine if it is the weekend or weekday nights that are hanging you up, if that happens. Weekends are obviously more in Vegas and weekdays are almost given away in some places. But there could be a convention or something or some other reason why particular hotels that participate have a high occupancy mid week, too.Compare the midweek prices to other midweek prices near the time of your stay and do the same with weekends. Be aware, though, that Memorial Day is a week after your trip... Link to comment
SUPERJ
Thanks. I've been to LV ten times already so after $200 I think i'm done. I won't be trying again. New York is a good getaway also. I'll try there. Link to comment
