AW2
I stayed at the Admiral Fell back in January on a Priceline bid. I called ahead to request two beds/nonsmoking. When I got there, I brought up the bed situation - they had us going into a one bed room. I asked if we could switch and it wasn't a problem at all (the hotel seemed pretty booked that weekend, too). We also needed a cot, which housekeeping brought up - no extra charge. I think valet parking was $25, but since we weren't going to need a car, we parked in residential area off Aliceanna St for free all weekend- it was less than a 10min walk from the hotel. Some of the other streets have restrictions in place if you don't have the parking sticker for that area.I also heard rumblings of a $10 resort charge, but since we did 'name your own price' - we didn't have to pay it.As far as smoking - It seemed like it was smoke free to me? If it wasn't then, I would imagine it'd be now since B'more went smoke free in Feb. Link to comment
ghost81
I stayed here the other day. Despite my claims that I used priceline to name my own price, they insisted I pay a destination fee of 9.95/day. I said I wouldn't do it, and caused a bit of a scene. The front desk clerk then told me it would be no problem and they'd waive the fee for me. To my surprise (not really), two weeks pass and I notice a charge for 29.85 (3 days) on my credit card. I called the hotel, and the gentleman who answered (sounds like the man who checked me in) said that they would never waive the fee. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. IMHO, if you're bidding in this area, and you're at the 3 star level, prepare to be scammed by this hotel. Link to comment
