tenny
Hi, I'd like to know what would be the best strategy to secure Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel for one night stay June 12th 2008.Corporate Discount has it at $179/night. Please advise. Thank you for your time!tenny Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't bid on a specific hotel with PRICELINE. If you're willing to accept any 4* hotel in the zone then we can advise of a bidding strategy to follow, but if this is the only hotel you're willing to accept then the opaque providers may not be the best solution for this stay.Let us know if you'd like to proceed. tenny
Sorry, my bad.I'd like to get the Marriott but I am willing to accept other hotels around the harbour. Thus being said, what would you suggest? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
We woudn't want to suggest a strategy that went higher than you were willing to bid... let us know your maximum bid and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. tenny
maximum bid would be at $110. So that my final cost is around $130. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
The following may be lowballing a bit, but with time on your side i would begin as follows:At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Halifax...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our PRICELINE link...Select 4* Halifax and re-bid zone2...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $70Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected don't get discouraged, as per the above, we're trying a few lowball bids at first... just post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. icecanadian
I'm still trying to bid on a hotel in Halifax as well. But isn't the Marriott considered a 3* deluxe? I thought there were no 4* establishments off of PRICELINE for Halifax. Link to comment
thereuare
There used to be no 4* bidding available in Halifax, but that star rating is now available to bid via PRICELINE. As per this Priceline Halifax Marriott win, the Marriot has been upgraded to 4 stars. tenny
I have followed your strategy halfway. (Made 2 bids and was rejected, $75 and $80)Now, there will be a convention and on website it said that after May 9th unreserved rooms will be available for general sales.Do you think I should wait until then and try another strategy? thereuare
Yes, you can wait, but book a cancellable back-up reservation in the meantime to protect yourself from any price increases (or if the conference is better attended than expected their may be no rooms left to release to the public).Use our BetterChecker and the links in our support page for your hotel direct reservations (which are a good source for cancellable back-ups) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
