pblanck
Bid $25, it suggested 55-57, rejectedImmediately rebid $30 by returning the car after midnight, it suggested 50-52, rejectedI then booked a car that can be cancelled through Alamo, total cost $576.The next day I Re-bid at $31, it suggested 55-57, rejectedThe next day I Re-bid at $32, it suggested 55-57, rejectedThe total price if I would have gotten the bid at $32 was $496. That means that for an 11 day trip, if I raise my bid by just $3, I am actually losing money. A bid of $35 would cost more than the $576 that Alamo is offering.Am I doing something wrong?Am I bidding too early?Should I wait another month of two and see what happens to the pricing?Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. pblanck
Thanks for checking into it for me.My bad, I did not give you the pick-up time and drop-off time. We are picking it up at 9:30AM on July 9th and returning it at 5:30PM on July 20th.I clicked on your link for HOTWIRE. When I put these numbers in Enterprise comes up with $599.21. When I switched to 9:30AM to 9:30AM it gave me the same rate you did, $540.30. Unfortunately we still need the car on the 20th right up to the time we get to the airport.Sorry, I should have given the pick-up and drop-off times in my original post. Thanks for trying!!!! szymon
Your $576 with Alamo looks like a great deal for a minivan. I couldn't get it to price out that low on the Alamo site.I would wait to see if regular prices decrease further - I think you already have the best price for now.Szymon Link to comment
