Kansai
This was the hotel I was hoping to get in the previous post (and ended up in the El Dorado instead, which has been upgraded by priceline to 4* again, but still shows 3* on the hotel list) From what I've read, the El Dorado is a nice hotel too, I just wasn't expecting it at the 4* level.I originally started bidding at $50, $60, $65 for 3/08/08 to 3/11/08, and priceline kept counter offering at $74, $75, and $79.Accepted at $74 for one night. (The El Dorado is sold out for this night (Saturday 3/08) so priceline has no inventory) Link to comment
Kansai
I was afraid to bid 4* in the South Reno zone for fear of being stuck in the "motor lodge" attached to the 4* Atlantis. Does anyone know if the Atlantis gives only tower rooms to priceline customers who are bidding at the 4* level, or do they just stick the priceline customers in the "motor lodge" and not care if they're happy or not? thereuare
See this link: Priceline Atlantis Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
tweekerz
Peppermill and Atlantis both Have motorlodge.... but you are bidding on stars. Each hotel has 3 star levels.Grand Sierra Resort has 2 star levels, 3.5 is GSR, and 4* is the Summit (remodeled rooms/condos) at Grand Sierra. They will not bump you down... no worries. pterrell
Thanks all for the advice. This Fall I'd used HOTWIRE instead of PRICELINE specifically to make sure that I got the motor lodge--it's a heck of a lot easier to get a disabled mother and her bags of luggage into a motor lodge room. Now I know I could have saved a few $$ by trying out PRICELINE first. And the Siena sure sounds nice at a good price. I'm hoping to take the California Zephyr up to Reno the second week of April and want to stay near the Amtrak station. Link to comment
