Hi, we have a refundable reservation at Imperial Palace at $100 per night and looking for something a bit nicer on the strip. We are not too picky, except coming from Vermont would like a nice pool so we can thaw out a bit, and something on the strip. Our max is $130. Never used priceline or hotwire and stumbled on this site and have found all the info and all the posts very helpful.

Appreciate any help and advice.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

First question in order to get started...

The Westin is located slightly off the strip but is in PRICELINE's South Strip zone... is this an acceptable property for you since it's not directly on the strip?

Let us know and we'll advise accordingly.

Just along from Imperial Palace is The Flamingo, which has one of the best pools in Vegas. If the pool & location are your criteria, this can't be bettered. It will probably be around the same price as IP too. We booked 8 nights from July 16th-23rd with Hotwire recently - cost $105 first four nights, $59 last four! And that's for four of us, not two. I think you could do alot worse.

The 'problem' is that by not willing to accept the Westin you can't bid the South Strip zone, which is where most of the 4* hotels are won. You can try bidding only the North Strip zone, but i think your chances of succes are less than 50/50. If you want to bid just the North zone, you have two re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: Summerlin is not one of them)

Please use this PRICELINE link to begin your bids.

Select 4* North Strip

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* North Strip and re-bid zone2

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $130.

If the above is rejected you can either choose to include the South Zone in your bidding or look towards HOTWIRE where i believe the Flamingo is available for your dates for $135/nite (please use our HOTWIRE link and ask for help to confirm this ID if you go this route)

Feel free to ask any questions that you have.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Diamond Dog,

Can you please follow-up your Hotwire Los Angeles thread and the balance of your Las Vegas stay (you've purchased the Flamingo for these dates but havent' posted your results :)).

Thanks.
