santillan
Date: 23 December (1 night)4 Stars.Best valueAs follows:1)4-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville This upscale establishment offers thoughtful features, quality rooms and a high level of service. See hotel details * Fitness Center * Restaurant(s) * Business Center * High-speed Internet AccessBest Value : 89 USDor2)4-star hotel in North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast Customer rating: 3.2 out of 5 / 20 reviews. (MOST REVIEWS ARE AWFUL!!) It amazes me that it is still shown as a 4 star in Hotwire. Who can explain this? * Fitness Center * Restaurant(s) * Business Center * High-speed Internet AccessBest Value: 79 USDWhich hotels could these be?By the way, via Hotwire I got the Intercontinental for 88 USD for the night of 10 January. Hip Hip Hurrah.Santillan Link to comment
AaronJB
1. Possibly the Hard Rock or the Westin River North, although likely the HR.2. Likely the Millennium Knickerbocker. The 4* rating on HOTWIRE is explained by the fact that the hotel is actually officially rated a 4*. It's more accurately a 3*, but I don't rate the hotels. If I did, a couple of other other 4*s in downtown Chicago (the Sheraton and the Hyatt) wouldn't be 4*'s either. Link to comment

santillan
Yes, actually. This time the price is different and there is no mention of customer reviews which, when they appeared last time, were rather awful. Hence my doubt now. The bad reviews last time seemed to indicate the Knickerbocker Millenium. Since these have been removed, I was wondering whether Hotwire can now withdraw the comments (because they are so bad) or whether it could be a different hote.Thanks. Link to comment
AaronJB
I think that it very well could still be the Millennium Knickerbocker. Link to comment

AaronJB
Excellent win, as the Intercontinental's a very nice hotel in a superb location that also boasts a pretty lengthy and interesting history. Link to comment
