4 Stars.

Best value

As follows:

1)

4-star hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville

This upscale establishment offers thoughtful features, quality rooms and a high level of service. See hotel details

* Fitness Center

* Restaurant(s)

* Business Center

* High-speed Internet Access

Best Value : 89 USD

or

2)

4-star hotel in North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast

Customer rating: 3.2 out of 5 / 20 reviews.

(MOST REVIEWS ARE AWFUL!!) It amazes me that it is still shown as a 4 star in Hotwire. Who can explain this?

* Fitness Center

* Restaurant(s)

* Business Center

* High-speed Internet Access

Best Value: 79 USD

Which hotels could these be?

By the way, via Hotwire I got the Intercontinental for 88 USD for the night of 10 January. Hip Hip Hurrah.

1. Possibly the Hard Rock or the Westin River North, although likely the HR.

2. Likely the Millennium Knickerbocker. The 4* rating on HOTWIRE is explained by the fact that the hotel is actually officially rated a 4*. It's more accurately a 3*, but I don't rate the hotels. If I did, a couple of other other 4*s in downtown Chicago (the Sheraton and the Hyatt) wouldn't be 4*'s either.

I've merged your most recentl thread with your previous thread for this same stay.

The two posts seem identical to me and AaronJB answered your questions... was there some additional information in your second post which i'm not noticing?

Yes, actually. This time the price is different and there is no mention of customer reviews which, when they appeared last time, were rather awful. Hence my doubt now. The bad reviews last time seemed to indicate the Knickerbocker Millenium. Since these have been removed, I was wondering whether Hotwire can now withdraw the comments (because they are so bad) or whether it could be a different hote.

Thanks.
