canuckfan
Hello,I was hoping one of you experts could help me with this. I am going to Vegas Nov 2-5th and am hoping for the Paris. However, when going to the official site, it tells me that the hotel is full on the first night.Does this mean my chances of getting the hotel on Hotwire are basically nil? Or do hotels "reserve" a handful of rooms for sites like Hotwire and Priceline? Thanks,Karen Link to comment
thereuare
There have been cases of users receiving hotels that are sold-out, but this is much more the exception than the rule... i wouldn't rule out receiving a hotel which is sold-out, but the chances are GREATLY reduced.Did you want to try bidding or using HOTWIRE for this stay? canuckfan
Thanks for the quick reply. I feel more comfortable going through HOTWIRE since I'd have a better chance of ID'ing the hotel I'd be booking. I just did a search for my dates again, and I get a 4-star that seems to match Planet Hollywood. They showed 1100+ customer reviews at 3.5/5 stars, which matches their current tripadvisor ratings/numbers. We're not set on the Paris, just want a 4-star hotel, Centrally located, and willing to pay around 200 - 250, as that seems to be the going rate.I also noticed that the South Strip hotels seem to be pretty good too. The 4-star hotel on South Strip that I suspect I am getting, is NYNY so I am trying to decide which is better.Any thoughts on preference? Both fall within my price range. Link to comment

thereuare
I agree with your best guess for each of the HOTWIRE properties above. If you are intersted in NYNY it can be booked thru their website HERE for $225/nite... no guessing as to what the hotel is, and also is cancellable up until a few days before your stay so you can continue to monitor rates and try to better the deal should anything come up between now and your stay. However, in this price range i would probably sooner go with Treasure Island for $209/nite as i like this part of the strip OR i'd go with the other HOTWIRE offer above (if i wanted to try Planet Hollywood and if i read reports that construction noise has subsided). Please use our NYNY or Treasure Island links to begin your booking if you go with eihter of those options OR use our HOTWIRE link if you go that route.Let us know hwat you decide or if we can be of further help. canuckfan
Thank you for the great suggestion. I ended up using the link you provided and booked Treasure Island for $209 per night. That works well b/c we were planning to check out the Cirque du Soleil show there too. Thanks for the tip! :) Link to comment
