Because of a number of reasons (rental car companies have cheaper rates for 7 day rentals, rebid limitations, was in a hurry) I bid $16/day as my first and only bid. Compare with Hotwire for $135.99 (total) for the same rental. Thus, still represents a $30 savings over hotwire. Of course, much cheaper than booking through Orbitz and Expedia.
