I want to bid through priceline for Oct 13-16. The suggested price they gave me is $343/night for 5*. How low should I start bidding according to your experience ? Thank you for your help.

I would of course preferably stay at 5* for around $150 or 4* for $120 in the North Strip area. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Many hotels in Vegas don't accept a Saturday check-in, so this will greatly reduce the number of hotels which are available to accept your bid... are you willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?

For the complete 3 day stay, commencing on a Saturday, i'm doubtful you're in the right ballpark. What is the best rate you're able to find for these dates thru conventional methods?

yes, I am willing to split up my bid. According to Las Vegas Checker from this forum hotels are running $230+ for Oct 13. Im also told that there is a convention in town that weekend. If hotels do not allow saturday check ins, what should we do? Thank you for your help.

Not all hotel restrict Saturday check-in... but as many don't, it makes it tougher as the number of potential hotels that can accept your bid is reduced.

Assuming a split of Saturday and Sunday-Tuesday... what is your maximum bid for each leg of your stay? Which hotel(s) are you finding for $230/nite (average)

It is slight lower for Oct 14-16

I'm hoping to bid around $150 for each night. Perhaps a 4* on Oct 13 and 5* for Oct 14-16

I don't think your expectations are realistic for Saturday nite nor for a 5* for Sun-Tues as rates at the Venetian are nearly $300/nite for those dates and the Bellagio is nearly $450/nite.

Is trip "on" regardless of price? (it's not that prices are that high, but are higher than your expecting above) If so, i'd suggest trying for the Sun-Tues nite stay first... then once you know how much that will cost, and where you'll be staying, you can figure out how much of your budget remains for the Saturday nite stay. I just want to make sure that you don't win a hotel for Sun-Tues, then find out that Saturday nite is out of your budget and want to cancel this trip as a result, but not able to do so since you're already committed to a Sun-Tues stay.

Also, are you 'ok' with the Westin, which is in Priceline's South Strip zone, yet slightly off the strip?

We were able to bid the Venetian for Oct 14-16 (2nights) for $271/night

We separated bidded Luxor for Oct 13-14 (1night) for $201/night
