Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help

This past week I've been trying to book a room in Downtown Chicago, preferably in/near the Loop.

I have been rejected at 4* at $90, $100 (Loop)

I have been rejected at 3* at $70, $80, $90 (Loop) (attempted over 3 days)

I have been rejected at 3* at $104 (Loop and NMA)

I am surprised that I have been unable to get a 3* at that price. I think I should book something that is cancelable and wait a bit longer to see if Priceline can do better. What do people think?

My ideal price for a 4* is $120 and a 3* is $90, but would much prefer a "cheap" 3*.
