I need help with my upcoming stay! checkin 8/28 checkout 9/01

I'm completely new to bidding regarding hotels.

I'm looking at the Resorts in San Juan on priceline.

My fiance has her heart set on the San Juan Marriott Stellaris.

If i bid on priceline i'll save so much money and that helps us cause we're poor college students.

So basically after reading through the forums, i think i should bid around 105-120 for an acceptable bid, but what i'm wondering is if i'll get the marriott? is it most likely? or might i end up with hilton caribe or intercontinental?

all help is highly appreciated!!

~thanks, t0m

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If your fiance has her heart set on the Marriott, i would recommend you book direct and make sure you get the Marriott :)... unless you can convince her otherwise. There is a good chance you could receive something other than the Marriott.

However, if you're able to explain to her the merits of having flexibility in the hotel received, i do think you could probably get a hotel for close to half of the $209/nite rate the Marriott is asking on their website.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed.

i've explained to her how much we would save by going through priceline, and i even have her telling me to bid, but shes using that tone of voice that says go ahead bid, but if we dont get the marriott, grrrr...lol but i think i want to go ahead and bid, i've convinced her how nice the other two resorts are. I was just wondering my chances of getting the marriott as opposed to the other two. Only because i believe that its not random, if i'm going on an 80% shot at getting the marriott i'll probably go for it. to have all that savings verses booking direct would be a great deal of spending money to do alot of fun stuff in san juan.

I wouldn't put your chances of receiving any particular hotel at 80%.

When bidding Resort in San Juan you have four re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select Resort...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $75, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select Resort and re-bid zone2...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select Resort and re-bid zone3...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select Resort and re-bid zone4...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $105, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select Resort and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...

Select Resort and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone4...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

I think the above should get you something, but if not, post back and we'll advise further.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

PS- you don't say if you're in grad school or undergrad, but a reminder that priceline requires you be 21 years old
