Update on New Orleans Hotels

I was in New Orleans last week and I wanted to update everyone on the status of a few hotels. 1st the Fairmaont has been permanently closed. (Or at least that what I was told.) Regardless it is nowhere near reopening. Moreover the Hyatt Regency will be closed for at least one more year and possibly two. The hotel Monaco was taken over by the Hilton was recently reopened under the Hilton name. Most other hotels on the lists appear accurate. I would not expect the highest level of service as there appears to be a lack of service employees as housing is hard to come by. 60% of the city remains without power or water, pending completion of the levees. Further, it seems as if the water pressure is insufficient to go to the uppermost floors of the tallest buildings. This really does not affect the hotels as none of them are that tall except the Hyatt and it is closed. I stayed at the St. James Hotel and I will write a review at a later date.
