Plainfield Bid $73 UPGRADED to 3* Marriott - AcceptedWas trying to avoid the Marriott, really wanted one of the 2 1/2* "business" propertiesNo big deal though.Any way to avoid the "upgrade"? blindman Posted April 26, 2007 Report Share Posted April 26, 2007 This is the biggest bugbear with bidding 2.5* on priceline.What new users don not realise is that the star level they pick is the lowest level they are willing to accept.Quite often the 2.5* hotels in the area have a higher PL rate than the 3* so an upgrade occurs quite often.This, as you've found, is a disadvantage as the 3* probably doesn't include the usual freebies that the 2.5* has.When one is bidding in a PL area at a lower star level than is available then it is imperative to do the research and look at the locations and reviews of hotels of star ratings higher than the one you've selected.This board is extremely useful :) So to answer the question, No it's not possible to avoid the 'upgrade'Glad it's not too much of a disappointment. :)BTWWhat are your dates of travel :o Link to comment
