jsammy
I'd just like to share my first bidding experience using PriceLine (earlier today):Bid 1: $90 USW - REJECTEDBid 2: $100 USW, Cat. Hill - REJECTEDBid 3: $110 USW, Cat. Hill, Civic Center - ACCEPTEDConsidering that the best value 4* on Hotwire for USW or USE was $155, and that Parc 55's Deluxe Room (least expensive) is $187, I'm VERY happy! Thanks to Better Bidding for all of the tutorials! jsammy
Here I am, 4 months after my original post.I've read some comments about people worrying about being assigned less than stellar rooms because of bidding through Priceline.com, so I wanted to throw in my two cents.Upon check-in, the hotel person said that I was placed in a smoking room with king sized bed. I politely asked to be moved to a non-smoking room, as I had called the hotel several months in advance asking for a non-smoking room. He looked through the available rooms (the hotel had overbooked), and placed us in a gorgeous corner-room, with full views of the north and the east, on the 17th floor.Keep this in mind, and do remember that while your mileage may vary, politeness can take you a long way, too. Thanks again to Better Bidding, and I'll be sure to use the Savings Barn link when booking my next trip.
