timn85
So yeah this was my first official bid through priceline. The weekend of the 16th of March was March Madness/St. Patrick's Day, and hotel rates were extremely crazy. I'm VERY sure I overpaid for the Riviera, since the place sucked very badly. The pools closed down at 5 PM...when it was 90 degrees outside! I started bid at $120 for 3*, added zone and rebid at $149 and got this:3 Star Upscale Hotel, Las Vegas Strip Vicinity Area Check-In Date: Friday, March 16, 2007 Check-Out Date: Sunday, March 18, 2007 Region: Las Vegas, NV City Area: Las Vegas Strip Vicinity Check-In Time: Guaranteed late night arrival Check-Out Time: Check-out times vary by hotel Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $149.00 Subtotal: $298.00 Taxes and Services Fees: $41.27 Total Charges*: $339.27 Link to comment
headtrip
Thanks for posting your win, even if you were unhappy. Hopefully it will remind others to be very careful when considering what star level and amound to bid. Everyone here on this board has at least 1 bad bidding story where they won a hotel that they would have rather avoided. In the future, especially when hotel rates in Vegas are high, stick to 4* bids and also check places like EasyClickTravel travel for hotel rates to protect yourself from overbidding. That's why almost everyone here usually tries to reserve a room at the best rate without priceline, and then tries to beat that price. That way you will always know what your true saving were.
