pnb Posted April 8, 2007 Report Share Posted April 8, 2007 $101 bid was for the next day.As it was my first bid, I thought I probably overpaid, so instead of extending my stay, I made a new bid for the following day at $86, which was also successful.I came to consider that it was an interesting bidding strategy not to aim too low for a last minute stay, but to place a first bid for one night only, and then try a lower bid for the following day, keeping the option to extend the stay at the same rate if the lower bid was not successful.As a reference, the best rate offered by the hotel web site was $179 for both nights, and the most likely match from hotwire was $153.This property is actually the former Sheraton Beach Resort (thereuare, you may want to update the list).
