scopes
Yeah I know it's not a great price! But the availability for that night was really tight all over the city, I'm guessing it's because the National Restaurant Show begins that Monday. We are happy with the hotel and it's still less than some other sites. Bid history was as follows:accessed priceline from savingsbarn.comBid $160 on 4* NMA - failedBid $175 on 4* NMA + rebid zone of Midway Airport - failedwaited 24 hoursreaccessed priceline from savingsbarn.comBid $202 on 4* NMA - failedBid $226 on 4* NMA + Midway rebid zone - success!I noticed some older posts that refer to 2 rebid zones when bidding on 4* NMA's... I could not confirm this when I checked, did something change recently? Thanks for all the great info! Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using the PRICELINE links at SavingsBarn.com to begin your bidding. While at first glance this seems high for this zone, you're right that rates are very expensive for this date; the above is over $150/nite savings at this property which seems like a very good deal.About 2 years ago (i guessing) there were two re-bid zones in this area but now there is just one.Enjoy your stay... and thanks again! BoredTraveler
I think you're right...that's a huge conference, with over 70,000 attendees. See http://www.choosechicago.com/smi/calendar.cfmI'm actually trying to book a hotel from the 16th to the 20th for a different conference, but I think I will probably end up paying ~$100 per night for 16th-18th to stay somewhere downtown and then staying at an O'Hare hotel for the 18th-20th. My flight leaves ORD at 10am on Sunday anyway... Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm just amazed you were able to get something when that show's going on. I think it's a great price, given the circumstances. The other re-bid zone in question was likely the Evanston zone, which is no longer a free re-bid since it started offering a 4* a few months ago.
